Fiberglass Grating Project Information:
A tourist attraction since the early 1900's, Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park visitors can see West Indian manatees every day of the year from the park's underwater observatory in the main spring. The park showcases native Florida wildlife, including manatees, black bears, bobcats, white-tailed deer, American alligators, American crocodiles, and river otters. The park was requiring slide gates to help keep manatees contained to a particular tank, but still allow the flow of water. American Grating designed a gate using 4" x 4" x 1/4” FRP Equal Leg Angles as guides for our 1-1/2” deep x 1-1/2” Square Mesh Molded FRP Grating. The FRP Gates were supplied with smooth surfaces to avoid harming any manatees if they were to rub against it. The longevity of fiberglass grating is perfect for the marine environment and requires little or no maintenance.
