American Grating, LLC is pleased to be able to supply products for public access that meet requirements for the Americans with Disabilites Act.

Our molded & pultruded gratings feature 1/2" Maximum Openings, passing the 13mm ball test.

MOLDED ADA COMPLIANT GRATING OPTIONS:

Offering the same benefits of our standard Molded Gratings, plus perfect for use in a wide variety of environments, such as high heel and cane/crutch traffic areas. We are able to manufacture these gratings with any of our available resin systems and can custom manufacture panel sizes up to 4’ wide and 12’ long.

There are two types of molded grating that we currently manufacture, meeting all ADA requirements.

Mini-Mesh Fiberglass Grating

• 1” deep x ¾” Mini-Mesh / General Purpose Resin / Dark Gray / Grit Surface / 4' x 12' Panel
• 1-1/2” deep x ¾” Mini-Mesh / General Purpose Resin / Light Gray / Grit Surface / 4' x 12' Panel

 Superspan Fiberglass Grating

• 1-1/2" deep x 1" x 6" Superspan / General Purpose Resin / Light Gray / Grit Surface / 4' x 12' Panel

• Playgrounds
• Diving platforms
• Docks
• Or anywhere molded grating is used where
  • added pedestrian/stroller comfort is desired or
  • the material needs to meet ADA requirements

The small mesh of our molded grating allows for additional comfort when barefoot or wearing high heels due to the additional surface area in contact with the your feet. This also allows for ease when using wheelchairs or strollers over the surface as well.

PULTRUDED ADA COMPLIANT GRATING OPTIONS

Offering the same benefits of our standard Pultruded Gratings, plus added strength due to the ratio of fiberglass content, allowing for greater span distances with fewer supports. Since these gratings are manufactured and assembled with load bars and crossrods, custom sizes and configurations are always an option.

Following are stocked grating options that we currently manufacture, meeting all ADA requirements.

I-Bar & T-Bar Fiberglass Grating

• 1” deep / 18% Open T-Bar / Isophthalic Resin / Light Gray / Grit Surface / 4' x 10' Panel
• 1” deep / 40% Open I-Bar / Isophthalic Resin / Light Gray or Yellow / Grit Surface / 4' x 20' Panel
• 1” deep / 60% Open I-Bar / Isophthalic Resin / Light Gray / Grit Surface / 4' x 20' Panel
  • Note: This grating is perfect when Opening requirements are high, but ADA compliant material is still required.
• 1-1/2" deep / 40% Open I-Bar / Isphthalic Resin / Light Gray or Yellow / Grit Surface / 4' x 20' Panel

In addition to the stocked ADA grating options listed above, we can also custom manufacture to sizes and shapes as necessary, in both Isophthalic or Vinyl Ester Resins. Panel sizes can be up to 5’ wide and 20’ long. The sizes listed below are non-stock standard ADA compliant Pultruded gratings that are available as options as well.
