Fiberglass Grating Project Information:
The design of the Federal Aviation Administration fiberglass grating project at Angels Peak, located in Mount Charleston, NV commenced in January 2012. Isophthalic resin was used for the 2” x 2” square mesh fiberglass grating and structural supports for design per contract drawings. The purpose of this project was to extend the walking surface using fiberglass grating around the HVAC equipment at the Radar Tower. Fiberglass grating materials were delivered to the site June 18th, 2012 and installation was completed by June 29th by Saybr Contractors, Inc. FRP products were selected for use for this project because fiberglass grating and fiberglass reinforced plastics are RF transparent by nature and will not interfere with the Radar Tower. Fiberglass grating and FRP products are also corrosion resistant which is suitable to withstand the rain and snow in the area throughout the winter.
